Hi Rab, Iwas having the same problembecause most of my photos were .bmp. How ever our fount of most knowledge (nobody knows everthing0Cameron sent me this sequence if it helps, it certainly helped me .

"select.......attach image...............then browse into your own computer to upload the file to upload the image...complete yourwritten message and then submit post." Idid this and it worked 1st time . I think Cameron should copyright these words of wisdom. and charge a dram per result ,I think I owe him a bottle of his favourite.
kindest Regards
George

Hi Rab

i have had the same msg about not being suitable to upload and just tried it again later and it uploaded fine.

Time to upload varies depending on the power of your computer, the speed of your server for upload and the general busyness of the WWW at the time.

Keep posting it is great to share pics with others'

Best
Cameron

Hello Cameron, Donna and George, thanks for the replies, George I think we collectively as a group owe Cameron a case of good Scotch, perhaps a barel, Donna sorry about not mentioning "Biddy", the first photo is Biddy the cat, she is 13 years old and Bessie who is 5 years old, she is a cross between a Bull Terrier and a Kelpie, the second one is Misty who has now passed on, she is an Australian Cattle dog or Blue Heeler, she rests in our backyard in a lovely little garden, and as I have said the third one is Maureen , our special child in Uganda.Cameron like "The Wallace" I shall persist until I get things correct, Regards Rab.

What state in the US does your sister live in - if you don't mind me asking. That's a beautiful picture!

Hello Donna, my Sister lives in Gulfport MS, her name is Lynette and she is a US Naval widow, her husband was an electronics engineer on an AWAC which crashed into the sea off Wake island in 1974. i have visited the USA many times now and like Lynette, I love the Gulf Coast, however She tells me now that since hurricane Katrina there has been a lot of trouble and crime in the area and she is thinking of moving over Clyde's way, Regards Rab.

George,  I don't claim to be a digital photo expert, but I do know that most bitmap pictures ( files ending in .bmp) are really big files and for the purpose of posting on the internet it would be much better to convert them to j-peg files - ending in .jpg. (You can keep your original bitmap files if you want.)  You can download free software to do this.  The size of j-peg files needed for this sort of use need be no larger than 100kb.  There is an excellent free software program called Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com that you can use to change the size of j-peg images.  You may even be able to convert bmp to jpg using it.  I hope this helps.

Tony
