I am always on the lookout for ways to make the chat on the Tranter Online pages more interesting.
This forum that I have built would seem to provide a lot.
Different sections for different types of posts. Person to person messaging (PMs). A listing of who is actually logged in ---you can send a PM and 'chat'. Ability to add photographs to our posts. Forum only for registered users -- no visitors able to post. You can log on here whenever you wish. No overloading of mail boxes with e-mail. If you wish to check anything on the Tranter Online web pages clicking on my name, in any place on the forum, will take you directly there. Lastly a direct link to this forum can be put on the browser toolbar--- and you can visit frequently with 1-click.

Cameron! I didn't forget my password - lately, while using my browser - it skips letters from the keyboard (about one out of five letters). I resent my password and it was missing a letter! Everything is running well now - except that I'd like to throw out the computer and get a new one! I'll review more later.

Toby! Am a bit slow on the uptake about this site - but must congratulate you on the ROBIN photo, a real European robin - how I miss them. When we first came to this spot, fairly high up, 21 years ago there was always a day in winter when a flame robin from the Snowy Mountains would sit on the fence, and once I looked out of the bathroom window and saw 2 on a twig huddled up to eachother. Specially asked Builder to put clear glass in so we could watch birds, since no neighbours near enough to look in. Have seen interesting Aussie lizards out there too. Shall miss that birdwatch when we eventually move to geriatric village with frosted glass, I like to watch my herbs growing now Rich has plumbed automatic watering to run from rainwater tank - so long as we get any of that! Is Sweden getting any Climate Change effects? Jane
I think this is a very good idea Cameron and you are to be congratulated on coming up with new ideas to make the group work even better. I will certainly look in regularly from now on, and post a few pictures.

This bird is not any european Robin. Its the Robin of Islay. A tuff and unafraid little fellow living just outside Port Askaig. And Jane, here close to the North Pole we are eagerly waiting for a warmer and drier climate. Toby
Toby! That is really lovely photo. Now are those photos whitewashed brick oare they pise i,e, mud. I was watching a TV programme inthe Grand design Series and one third of buildings in the world are made of mud, among the illustrations wee whitewashed cottages. I don't think there can be such a large proportion, mind you, when you think of the myriad skyscraper cities. I flinch at the fact I have to spend 2 days each in Hong Kong and Shanghai next month, however that will be balanced by two river cruises. But along the Yangtze they were already sky scraping 5 years ago, pulling down and flooding the little dwellings and forcing country people up into the clouds, which I hope will not be as smoky as they were then. No Toby you do not want a warm dry climate - think of the seals and polar bears. The Robin of Islay will fly away or die out. Jane
Hello Toby, another great photo, you can send me a few buckets of rain water if you like, we are now on level 4 water restrictions here and we can only water our garden for two hours , twice per week, no car washing, we keep buckets in the shower to collect water and I have a plastic pipe that conects to the washing machine and runs the water out to the lawn.my Son Tim spent 6 hours with me yesterday putting my photos in order on the computer, so hopefully i will be able to send some nice ones in return, Stay safe ,Rab.
