Rab asked me to give a bit more information on Roberta Gellis and Sharon Kay Penman. Here it is - short but - whatever! Sharon Kay Penman is a genius at historical 'fiction', who centers mostly on English and Welsh history during the times of Lllewelan Fawr during the 13th century in 'Here Be Dragons'. She also explores 12th century Henry the 1st in 'When Christ and His Saints Slept'.
Roberta Gellis covers many genres, including medieval history (with a dash of romance), science fiction and mythology. I highly recommend all of her works.
If you have read either of these authors, then tell me what you think.
Enjoyed When C and Saints slept some years ago, also about same period "the White Ship" cannot remember author? Does that one ring a bell? looked at Penman books in library and decided to long and tiny print to immerse self in before we go to China mid May. so seized a large print Jane Auten "Sanditon' which does not grip and make one read too long! So much to do before departure. Jane
