You probably heard worldwide that the SNP have won control of the Scottish Parliament by the slimest of margins.
It means that while in control and with Alex Salmond as First Minister they will need to form coalition with some of the other parties to ensure their success in many matters to be debated.
They promised a referendum on self government for Scotland but the Liberal Democrats ----the next largest party--- will only join a coalition that does not include that in the agenda.
It is going to be an interesting political year ahead.
