Downunder Fact Of The Day

Late last night one of our most popular restaurants "The Cuckoo" which is located in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges was being closed by the manager when two robbers, one armed held him up, the manager was carrying a bag which the robber with the gun grabbed and then in his excitment he accidentaly shot his accomplice, his next shock was to find that the bag contained breadroles not money, that was in the safe, he ran off and left his accomplice who just happened to be his wife, she is now under guard in hospital and he is inside the jail wondering what went wrong.

Sorry Cameron!
In writing replies in specific topic areas, i have been wandering off the point! Will try to discipline myself to write such replies in GENERAL CHAT. Jane

Hi Rab,
Thanks for the post relating to the Cuckoo, I know it well. I haven't eaten there for many years but one time I stuffed myself so full of food that I made myself sick. I think it was due to my "third helping of Strwaberry Pancakes" that finally done me in!!
There are some great restaurants in the Dandenong Ranges. One of the best that was a great favourite of mine, was Cotswold House at Menzies Creek. I went there in the late 1970's and 80's. It was owned then by Sylvia and Mike Johnston. It won a few awards.

Andy
