G'Day Andy,facinating post, the first article was a bit hard to read so I used a magnifying glass and read it ok, the second one is quite clear, I right clicked on the first article and made it into a photo and then used the sharpen option in my photo section, that worked even better, the Stone/Stane is one of the great mysteries of Scotland, there is no doubt in my mind that Eddy Longshanks never got the real one and I also believe that Nigel's description of it is more accurate than it being just a flat Piece of stone.
In my mind I picture something far more befitting for a King, made of that beautiful black stone found in Scotland and almost certainly having Celtic carvings on it.
I also believe that its whereabouts is known and that it is in a very secure place just waiting for the time when it will once again take its rightful place in the Hameland, lets hope that we are still around to see that day, Rabbie.
